The Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Association is a private club made up of 200 active members, governed by a Board of 9 Directors elected from the membership. They are the promoters of the National Tractor Pulling Championships and have been since 1967. The National Tractor Pulling Championships are held the third weekend in August at the Wood County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green, Ohio. The NTPC have aligned with The National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA), TNT Motorsports and the United States Hot Rod Association as different sanctioning bodies. These organizations not only provide a fair competition for drivers, but safety regulations to protect driver and fan. With an estimated crowd of 60,000 for the weekend event, and over $150,000 in purse money and contingency prizes, the NWOTPA boasts a membership limited to 200 led by 9 directors.
At this event the classes pulling pull on two different days and the puller with the most points between the two days wins the Ring. The ring is a coveted possession in the pulling world. This is the 3 time a Scheid Diesel Super Stock Truck has won the ring. Kent Crowder driver of the 2008 Scheid Diesel Super Stock truck also won the ring in 2011 & 2012.
