Highway MPG Economy Test: 2015 Ram 2500 HD Cummins 4×2

YouTube channel, The Fast Lane Truck, recently performed a highway MPG economy run with the 2015 Ram 2500 HD 4×2, powered by the 6.7L I6 Cummins turbo-diesel engine.

The Cummins engine is good for 370 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque all day long, with a 6-speed automatic transmission that oozes power down the line.

The goal of the test was simple… Fill the truck up, get on the highway, set that puppy on cruise control, and study the truck’s fuel efficiency.

In total, the round-trip test spanned about 43.6 miles, with cruise control set to 65 the whole time.

Approximately 440 pounds was added to the bed of the truck, in addition to camera equipment and two people being in the truck itself during the test.

And for what it’s worth, there was a slight wind from the north.
