Grandma Betty has been living with breast cancer since 1987 but that hasn’t stopped the grandmother from Minnesota from making herself a local household name drag racing.

A much younger racer, Peter Miele, recently challenged Betty to a race at the Green Cove Dragway in Green Cove Springs, Florida, where she won and then beat him in a rematch race shortly after.

Betty “started out with dirt track [racing] in the late 1950s, running a ’48 Ford with a ’51 Lincoln engine,” according to her profile on the GCD site.

The proceeds from Grandma Betty’s last two drag races went to breast cancer so its nice to see Betty is not simply unbeatable on the track.

She’s a philanthropist!
