Economic Times is reporting that Eicher Motors and Polaris are teaming up in order to develop a new small vehicle specifically for farmers and others in the agricultural space.

There is likely to be two different versions, a MPV-like van and a twin-cab pickup, both capable of transporting people and carrying loads such as produce.

Production is expected to commence some time this year in Jaipur, with engineers targeting a fuel efficiency of 25 km/l.

The vehicle will be powered by a 600 cc diesel engine, constructed with composite materials, and have a tubular frame.

The report also mentions that the new Eicher-Polaris vehicle will be comprised of 20kg of plastic in order to ensure a lightweight body.

Scheid Diesel can service any diesel engine including, but not limited to agricultural, construction, heavy duty truck, and automotive. Scheid has also made its mark in the diesel performance market with tractor and pickup truck pulling as well as diesel drag racing.
