The new Dodge RAM 1500 EcoDiesel reportedly gets 20 miles per gallon overall, making it the best fuel economy ever for for a full-sized truck.
The RAM also represents the first half-ton pickup truck on the market with a diesel engine in years, not to mention the diesel provides more torque and typically holds its value better than gas vehicles.
While diesel fuel will run you an extra 20 cents or so per gallon on average, estimates are that EcoDiesel drivers will save approximately 200 gallons per year assuming they drive the average 12,000 miles per year.
The truck is garnering some high praise and rightfully so, with many car sites and magazines names the new 1500 as the top-rated pickup on the market.
The Dodge RAM 1500 EcoDiesel certainly looks the part, but only time will tell how the truck will hold up over time.
