Each SCR equipped vehicle will carry DEF in a separate

storage tank. The dosing control unit sprays a fine mist

of DEF into the exhaust stream and is consumed at an

approximate ratio of 2% to diesel fuel (1 Gal. of DEF

to 50 Gal. (3.78 L of DEF to 189 L) of diesel fuel). If a

vehicle achieves 6 mi per 1 Gal. (9.7 km per 3.78 L) of

diesel fuel, it will achieve approximately 300 mi per Gal.
