5.9L Dodge Cummins Fire Ring

Scheid Diesel's Fire Rings are a .105 heat treated steel solid wire. An aftermarket O-ring is a .040 stainless steel wire. The aftermarket O-ring is designed to add an additional .010 crush to the factory Fire Ring. Scheid Diesel's technicians have engineered a custom Fire Ring that can withstand a considerable amount more of crush and combustion pressures. The gap in aftermarket O-ring that can lead to combustion gasses escaping. On the other hand, Scheid Diesel's Solid Fire Ring prevents this from happening. This ring 4.35 ID by .105 wire thickness is for standard thickness head gasket for a 5.9L Cummins Engine that is cut for fire rings (see 1054014012 or 1054014024 for head gasket). This ring fits most applications when grooves in cylinder head or block are cut by Scheid Diesel. If your groove was cut by another shop the size you need can vary.
